Xiaomi 14 vs Oppo Find X8: Flagship Smartphones n 2025

With the launch of new flagship smartphones like the Oppo Find X8 and Xiaomi 14, buyers are now faced with an important decision: which device offers the best value for their money? Both smartphones offer powerful specifications and premium designs, but a closer look reveals differences in display, performance, camera capabilities, and battery life.

Design and Display: A Battle of Premium Looks

The Oppo Find X8 boasts a robust design, featuring a Gorilla Glass 7i back with an aluminium frame. This flagship offers a flat design and a circular camera module at the rear. Moreover, it has an IP68 and IP69 rating, ensuring protection against both water and dust.

On the other hand, the Xiaomi 14 features a sleek silicone polymer body paired with an aluminium frame. The square-shaped camera module gives it a more glossy and premium appearance. It also carries an IP68 rating for water resistance, ensuring both phones hold up in similar environmental conditions.

When it comes to the display, the Oppo Find X8 shines with its 6.59-inch AMOLED screen. This display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and delivers up to 4500 nits of peak brightness, making it a solid choice for outdoor usage. The Xiaomi 14, while impressive with its 6.36-inch LTPO OLED display, offers a lower peak brightness of 3000 nits. Both phones support a 120Hz refresh rate, but Oppo’s higher brightness provides a slight edge in visibility under direct sunlight.

Performance: Efficiency and Power

Under the hood, the Oppo Find X8 runs on the advanced MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset built on a 3nm process. This chip, paired with the Immortalis-G925 GPU, promises faster performance and better efficiency. The phone also offers up to 16GB of RAM, making multitasking smoother than ever. Additionally, it comes with 512GB of storage.

In contrast, the Xiaomi 14 uses the slightly older Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which is based on a 4nm process. While not as cutting-edge as the Dimensity 9400, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 still delivers robust performance, with the Adreno 750 GPU offering excellent graphics capabilities. Xiaomi’s flagship comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, making it more than capable of handling most tasks.

Camera: Photography Powerhouses

Both phones come with impressive camera setups, offering triple-camera arrays with similar specifications. The Oppo Find X8 is equipped with a 50MP wide-angle main camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultrawide camera. This combination ensures versatility, whether you’re shooting wide landscapes or zooming in on distant subjects.

The Xiaomi 14 also sports a 50MP main camera, a 50MP telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultrawide camera. Although both phones have similar setups, the sensor sizes and software optimizations could result in different image quality. However, both devices offer excellent photography performance, making them ideal for photography enthusiasts.

Battery and Charging: Power That Lasts

Battery life is another area where the two phones differ. The Xiaomi 14 features a 4610mAh battery with support for 90W fast charging, allowing it to quickly charge from 0 to 100%. The Oppo Find X8, on the other hand, comes with a larger 5630mAh battery, which should provide longer battery life overall. However, it supports 80W fast charging, which is slightly slower than Xiaomi’s offering.

Despite the smaller battery, Xiaomi’s faster charging speed ensures that users can get back to using their phones sooner. Oppo’s larger battery might take longer to charge but could last longer on a single charge.

Price and Availability: A Close Call

Both the Oppo Find X8 and Xiaomi 14 are priced similarly in the Indian market. The Oppo Find X8 starts at ₹69,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant, while the Xiaomi 14 is available at the same price for the 12GB + 512GB model. This makes the Xiaomi 14 a better value if you’re looking for more storage for the same price.
