The Uttar Pradesh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has launched a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering educated and skilled youth by providing them with the tools and resources needed to embark on self-employment ventures. The Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan, as the scheme is called, is set to play a pivotal role in fostering entrepreneurship and creating sustainable employment opportunities across the state.
Announced as part of the state’s 2024-25 budget, the scheme aims to offer financial grants and facilitate loans to a lakh (100,000) youngsters each year, enabling the establishment of micro-enterprises. Over the next decade, the government anticipates that this initiative will help one million young individuals in Uttar Pradesh to become self-reliant entrepreneurs.
The scheme is designed to be inclusive, with provisions made for all categories, including general, Scheduled Castes and Tribes, Other Backward Classes, persons with disabilities, and women. This inclusive approach ensures that every aspiring entrepreneur, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to participate and benefit from the scheme.
Chief Minister Adityanath has emphasized the importance of providing new entrepreneurs with not only financial assistance but also proper training in areas such as packaging, branding, and marketing. This comprehensive support system is expected to equip young entrepreneurs with the necessary skills to succeed in the competitive market.
In addition to the financial and training components, the Chief Minister has stressed the need for widespread awareness of the program. By ensuring that more youngsters are informed about this opportunity, the government hopes to inspire a new generation of self-reliant, skilled, and successful entrepreneurs in Uttar Pradesh.
This initiative marks a significant step toward a more self-sufficient and prosperous state, where the youth are not only employed but are also the driving force behind the state’s economic growth.
