Nissan Motor India commences export of new Magnite to South Africa – Expanding Global Influence

Nissan Motor India is ready to expand its business globally by exporting its facelifted Magnite, manufactured in the Chennai plant, to over 65 markets worldwide, including South Africa.

Primarily focused on domestic and export markets, Nissan Motor India plans to expand its reach globally. It has commenced the export of its upgraded SUV Magnite to South Africa from its manufacturing plant in Chennai, Alliance. The initiative taken by the company goes well with its “One Car, One World” philosophy. By establishing a winning streak both in India and abroad, Nissan has taken its first step towards strengthening India’s position as a global export hub for the Japanese automaker.

With improved safety features, including a bolder look, six airbags, and the latest technology, the updated Nissan Magnite is selling like hotcakes in the South African market. Expressing his excitement over the export of Magnite, Nissan India Operations President Frank Torres said, “We have witnessed an overwhelming acceptance for Made-in India SUV Magnite from customers in the South African market since its launch in 2020.” He further stated, “India has always been a major part of the company’s growth strategy.”

Exporting Nissan Magnite to more than 65 international markets, including South Africa, is a testimony to the company’s commitment to the “Make in India” initiative. Moreover, the company considers exports a strong pillar of its business strategy and strives to continue growing its customer base in various markets. The upgraded Magnite was launched under its “The Arc” strategy, and 2700 units have already been shipped to South Africa within a month after its launch.

With the export of Nissan Magnite, the company has recorded its milestone of exporting one million vehicles from its manufacturing plant in Chennai, ever since its export journey in September 2010. Rakesh Shrivastava, MD, Nissan Motor India, stated, “The success of Nissan Magnite in Indian markets and abroad has strengthened its role as a key driver of the Nissan NEXT transformation plan.” 

Nissan Africa President, Jordi Villa, has also expressed his excitement over the shipment of Nissan Magnite from India. He commented, “Its bold look, improved safety features, and latest technology cater to a wide range of preferences and customer needs in South Africa and other African markets. They are sure to like the New Nissan Magnite SUV.” 

The upgraded Magnite is priced between 11.51 lakh to 15.14 lakh in the South African market, making it approximately 5.6 lakh more expensive than the Indian model.

It’s worth noting that the facelifted Magnite SUV has made its mark on the road, thanks to its tougher look, along with a tweaked interior and exterior design. Its Indian and South African versions come up with different variants and colors. Its key features include –
